Angel of 8th Ave. on verge of cracking the Top 10 in the U.S.

Take a look at that image. It’s from this week’s Billboard chart for the Adult Alternative Airplay category. And yep, that’s “The Angel of 8th Ave.” currently sitting at #12. It’s been on the charts for five weeks and is slowly making its way toward the Top 10.
Whether it gets there or not, Angel is already Gang of Youths’ most popular song in the U.S. Back in 2017, “The Heart is a Muscle” reached #37 on this same AAA chart. That’s the only other GOY song to ever chart in the U.S.
There are a couple tracks ahead of Angel that seem to have peaked — “See the World” by Brett Dennen and “Elevator Boots” by Counting Crows — so it’s possible that Angel could give GOY its first U.S. Top 10 song as early as next week.
