New video: Dave covers Ryan Adams in support of MyMusicRX & Children’s Cancer Association

Just found this new video that MyMusicRX uploaded to YouTube today. It’s Dave doing a solo, acoustic cover of Ryan Adams’ “My Winding Wheel.” It was recorded back in October when GOY was performing in Austin, TX, at the ACL Festival.

MyMusicRX is a program from the Children’s Cancer Association that uses music to engage and support hospitalized children. As part of this “Bedstock” series, musicians perform while sitting in bed as a show of solidarity with the kids who are stuck in hospital beds. What a neat idea.

You can learn more about the program at MyMusicRX.org.

Watch Dave L. go into the audience in St. Louis

I noticed at some of GOY’s recent festival appearance that Dave L. has been leaving the stage during “Magnolia” to go out into the audience. That’s all fine and good in an outdoor festival setting in broad daylight — your bandmates can probably still see where you are, the cameras can follow you pretty easily in sunlight, etc. But it feels like it might be a different story in an arena setting, at least to me. Apparently not to Dave, who continued the habit last night as GOY opened for Foo Fighters in St. Louis!

It may be a bit cliché, but I love seeing artists doing stuff like this to make a connection with the audience.

Listen: Acoustic version of ‘Deepest Sighs’

I just stumbled on this on Twitter and have to share. Mick Radojkovic of 2ser radio just uploaded to YouTube this video of Dave L. doing an acoustic version of “Deepest Sighs” during a radio interview right before Go Farther In Lightness came out in 2017.

Fantastic, isn’t it?

Here’s the full interview if you want to hear it.
