Comments: GOY opens for Mumford & Sons. Before “The Heart Is A Muscle,” Dave gives a lengthy explanation of the song, telling the audience that it was inspired by the lessons his father taught before he died last year at 80 years old. Dave says he always dedicates the song to his dad’s memory “because he was the single most extraordinary person I ever met in my life.” He thanks the audience before “The Deepest Sighs” and tells them that the first time Gang of Youths played in Cologne, “I think 30 people showed up. So this is way, way, way fucking cool.” He’s referring to a show on August 13, 2017, during the Go Farther In Lightness European tour.

This is the tour’s fourth (and final) show in Germany — that’s the most shows Mumford and GOY will play in one country during this tour. Overall, it’s Gang of Youths’ 11th show in Germany, making it their second-most frequently played-in country in Europe (behind England).
