Gang of Youths gig update: Two UK festivals canceled, one postponed

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed two more upcoming Gang of Youths live gigs and postponed a third until September. All three affected appearances are festival gigs that were planned in May at various UK locations.
The two that are canceled entirely are:
- The Great Escape, which was scheduled for mid-May in Brighton. Organizers are offering either full refunds or the option to hold your tickets for the 2021 festival.
- All Points East, which was scheduled May 30 in London. Ticketholders are advised to contact the agency where you bought tickets if they haven’t already contacted you directly.
Then there’s the Neighbourhood Weekender festival, which has been postponed from May 23-24 to September 5-6. Tickets for each original date will be honored on the corresponding new date. Gang of Youths is slated to perform on day one, September 5, 2020.

That covers all of the announced May gigs. After those dates, next on the schedule is the German festivals Rock AM Ring and Rock IM Park. Those are scheduled for June 5-7, and the respective websites are both saying things are up in the air at the moment.
That’s also the case with the Rock Werchter festival, where Gang of Youths is scheduled to perform on July 3. The festival website says preparations are ongoing, but it’s uncertain if conditions will allow the festival to happen.
Last month, Gang of Youths’ planned appearance at the 9-date Groovin’ The Moo festival was canceled, and that was followed by Sam Fender canceling his UK tour, which included five shows where GOY was scheduled to support.
The only other announced Gang of Youths gigs in 2020 are two U.S. festivals in September, and neither is saying anything just yet about whether those will happen. As always, you can see all upcoming Gang of Youths gigs here on Deepest Sighs. (We haven’t added the German festivals in June because exact dates for GOY have not been announced.)
