Gang of Youths No Longer on Ohana Festival Lineup; Sea.Hear.Now Festival TBD

Gang of Youths’ list of upcoming shows is now officially missing any shows in North America with news today that the band is no longer on the Ohana Festival lineup.

They’d been listed as one of the performers on day two, Sept. 25, of the 3-day festival. But festival organizers announced a number of lineup changes today, one of which is that GOY will not be performing there this year.

Technically speaking, Gang of Youths was never really confirmed for the 2021 event. They were due to play last year’s Ohana Festival, which was — like almost every other gig on their itinerary — canceled by the pandemic. When the Ohana Festival announced the cancellation last summer, it changed the dates to 2021 and listed the same lineup for each day. Assuming all the artists would be able to keep those commitments was probably a bit optimistic.

Neither the band nor Ohana organizers have given any reason for GOY’s change of plans. It’s likely just a matter of scheduling.

As far as other North American appearances go, the band’s official site says they’ll do the Sea.Hear.Now festival in New Jersey in September, but the festival’s website doesn’t list Gang of Youths on the lineup. So … yeah. Your guess is as good as ours.
