Gang of Youths reschedules 4 UK gigs to finish new album

This is good news for all of us who are anxious to hear the new Gang of Youths album. But it’s potentially not good news for all the fans who were excited to see them live over the next few weeks on that small UK tour.
The band announced today that four upcoming gigs have been pushed back to November “in order to have time to finish our upcoming album and avoid postponing its release.” The new dates are scattered before, during, and after the band does a handful of support shows with Sam Fender:
- November 15: Rescue Rooms, Nottingham
- November 23: SWG3, Glasgow
- November 29: The Old Market, Brighton
- November 30: Trinity Centre, Bristol
Not affected are Gang of Youths’ scheduled appearances at two upcoming festivals: All Points East on August 30 in London, and Neighbourhood Weekender on September 4 in Warrington.
Here’s the full text of the band’s Facebook announcing the change:
hey everybody who purchased tickets to our upcoming UK shows. unfortunately we have had to postpone the rest of our UK shows until November (festival shows still going ahead) in order to have time to finish our upcoming album and avoid postponing its release — we are sorry for any inconvenience and obviously if these dates no longer work for you, you will be refunded.
as always we love you and appreciate your support and we will see you soon.

The date rescheduling is the strongest indicator yet that the new album is almost done. By moving these dates to mid/late November, we can assume that either a) the album will be finished and turned into Warner Music by these dates, or 2) the album will already be released by these dates.
